The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) comprises

of the police service acting as an independent, professionally led
strategic body which, in partnership with Government and the APA,

The IPCC's job is

effectively. They set standards for the way the police handle
complaints and, when something has gone wrong, help the police

leadership and expertise to the service in areas such

The new Equality and Human Rights Commission (CEHR) is
a Non Departmental Public Body and independent influential
champion whose overarching purpose is to reduce inequality,
eliminate discrimination, strengthen good relations between people
and protect human rights. The CEHR will take
an active role in helping to achieve change to benefit some of the
most vulnerable and least well represented people in our
society.
The CEHR brings
together the work of three previous Commissions, the
Commission for Racial Equality
(CRE), Disability Rights Commission
(DRC)
and Equal Opportunities Commission
(EOC)
in this new body.
